What Purity Measures

Purity refers to the proportion of the target peptide relative to all other substances in the sample — including truncated sequences, deletion products, and residual solvents. A purity of 99%+ means that 99% or more of the sample is the intended compound.

How Purity Is Measured

High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) separates the components of a peptide sample. The area under the main peak — corresponding to the target peptide — is compared to the total area of all peaks to calculate purity percentage.
